Tradewinds Transportation roots go back to the early 1980s when Robert Headrick started hauling building products on one of the first curtain van trailer fleets in the Pacific Northwest. Don Headrick eventually joined his father and they worked together for nearly 20 years. Preferring the specialized nature and accessibility of curtain van trailers, they built up their curtain van fleet, and in 2002 Don started Tradewinds Transportation.
Tradewinds Transportation continues its family tradition through the additional leadership of Don’s children, Heather Hayes and Tyler Headrick. Our values are paramount as a family-owned business, with service, trust, and reliability guiding our long-standing customer and employee partnerships, many exceeding 15 years. Led by our mission of service, we strive to maintain a leadership role in the trucking industry and are driven to be the best in integrity and safety.
We are committed to improving lives through the promotion of employee and community health and wellbeing. Our mission is to render assistance to those in need and maintain a leadership role as a full-service carrier. Our collective community contributions are fueled by our core values of service, integrity, equality, and trust.
Tradewinds created the Fitness In Trucking program (FIT) to inspire our employee community to be champions of their own health. FIT is a team-based wellbeing program that is comprised of three components: wellness education, healthy lifestyle routines, and team challenges. FIT is relevant to choices we make in everyday life, builds team culture, and inspires positive change.
Beyond our employee community we are active in our local community. We are especially committed to programs that support and positively impact families and youth development. Tradewinds, and many of our employees, proudly fundraise and donate annually to dozens of community and youth programs.
